QUALIFIED VET NURSE (RVN)

 

To provide the highest standard of service and care at Parkside

 

Work as part of the nursing team at Parkside, ensuring the highest standard of care is provided to all animals. .

 

Work a varied shift pattern including approximately:  2 days 8.30am – 5.00pm, 1 day 9.00am – 6.00pm, 1 day 8.30am – 5.30pm, 1 half day 8.00am – 1.00pm, one in every 8 Saturday mornings.  On call for less than one evening per week (11am start) and one in 8 weekends on call.

 

Full time holiday entitlement [based on 39 hours] 4 weeks [20 days] plus 9 days [4 of which must be kept aside for Christmas and New Year].

 

 

 

THE ROLE/JOB

 

Ensure all clinical areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.  Ensure all equipment is suitable for use. 

Partake in nurse clinics as and when required. 

General nursing duties including but not only:  Admission and Discharge of animals, general nursing care during hospitalisation of animals including, administration of medicines, IV Fluids, blood sampling, monitoring of anaesthetics etc. Assist vets as required.

Attend nurse meetings regularly.  

Assist with dangerous drug stock take which is carried out daily.

To be fully conversant with the Practice Manual, COSHH regulations and all other Health and Safety policies and procedures. 

Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by Partners, Head Nurse, Vets, Senior Vet Nurses and Practice Manager.
