Parkside Equine increases the number of equine vets to five and welcomes Laura Rennie.

Laura qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 2006 as a second degree. She gained a BSc(Hons) in Agriculture with Animal Science in 1999 followed by an MSc in Animal Welfare and Behaviour in 2000 and a Post Doctorate M.Phil in Dairy Cow welfare at SAC in 2002. She started in mixed practice before opting to work exclusively with horses and farm animals in 2010. Her main interests lie in equine reproduction, internal medicine and proactive farm animal health planning and management.

She will be found on her travels with her side kick her patterdale terrier Mitchel, who loves to sit on students knees to see out the window and has been known to steal the odd student lunch! And the newest addition to the family Mazie the patterdale puppy.

Outside work Laura enjoys eventing her horse and has a passion for breeding and showing riding ponies. She said her dreams would be to compete at Blair one star and to breed and show a cuddy finalist! Everyone can DREAM! If she has any other free minutes in a day she enjoys going to the gym or the odd run and she has been known to sign up for a tough mudder or insanity event.

Throw in some pet sheep, a tortoise named Walter and there is never a dull moment!

She is looking forward to getting to know many new friends.
